  Applications are invited for admission into the Masters of Health Informatics (MHI) programs in Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences (BIHS) under Dhaka University.
  • With support from Rockefeller Foundation, the Division of Allied Health Sciences of the Bangladesh Institute of Health Sciences (BIHS) is announcing the admission of the 1st Batch of students in Masters of Health Informatics (MHI) Courses (Academic year July 2012 - June 2014) under the Faculty of sciences of the University of Dhaka..
BIHS offers some unique opportunities:
  • Degree to be given by the University of Dhaka.
  • The first Institute in the subcontinent to offer 2 years Masters Course in Health Informatics which creates job prospects in hospitals, clinics, pharmaceuticals & Biotech companies, software firms, NGOs/International organization development organizations and academic institutes/universities.
  • The Institute is linked to the BIHS Hospital - the highly advanced Apex Hospital of the Health Care Development Project (HCDP) - established under Bangladesh-Netherlands joint cooperation;
  •  Full-time, nonpracticing Faculties as well as rich multinational Guest Faculties coming from renowned Universities/Institutes in India, Srilanka, Norway and Netherlands;

Admission Requirement:
  • Qualification:
    a) MBBS, BDS or its equivalent recognized by the BMDC plus one year in service training; OR
    b) Non-medical professionals with at least 4 years of University education and 2nd class (or equivalent GPA Grade) from any recognized University in the following areas:
    i) Biochemistry, ii) Human Genetics / Molecular  Biology / Biotechnology / Biological Sciences, iii) Nutrition, iv) Computer Science, iv) Communication Technology, v) Physics, vi) Electronics, vii) Statistics, and viii) Pharmacy; 
  • Experience: Only for non-medical professionals two years working experience in hospital/health center/biomedical organization/health related program or projects.
  • Age: Age limit on the last date of Application is 45 years;
  • Foreign students: with required qualification and experience are eligible to apply
  • Interested candidates are requested to submit their Application and CV together with certified copies of all relevant documents and a recent passport size photograph.
